Scares That Care!

THE OFFICIAL CHARITY OF THE WICKED VAULT & WICKED WEEKEND

THE FOUNDER

Scares That Care was founded by Joe Ripple. A retired Baltimore County, Maryland, Police Detective who in 2007 started this organization as a tribute to the daughter of a fellow officer who succumbed to a terminal illness.

THE HISTORY

The charity originally started with the goal of raising $10,000 per year for organizations such as Make-A-Wish and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. After several successful campaigns, the charity became more formalized in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) and established the Board of Directors. The mission originally was designed to help those fighting breast cancer or childhood illness.  This was then expanded by horror legend Kane Hodder as he asked them to take over his burn survivor program.

THE MISSION

As a 100% volunteer organization, they are focused to fight the REAL MONSTERS of childhood illness, burns and breast cancer by helping families who are experiencing these extraordinary hardships cope with the financial burden by raising and providing $10,000 per recipient family.
